The following types of Weaves (i.e., groups associated with NVC-O or the NVC-O Community) exist during the Implementation Phase of the New Future (NF) Process.
- Community Weaves - Formed by members of the NVC-O Community, for any purpose that is aligned with the NVC-O Community Vision, Purpose, Mission. It is asked that they make their existence known to the Implementation Council.
- Implementation Support Weaves - Made up of Contributors (i.e., members of the NVC-O Community who have gone through some orientation), in coordination with Transitional Partners, and working on supporting the implementation of NVC-O and the NF Plan.
- Organisational Weaves - Made up of Transitional Partners, and possibly some Contributors, and working on the implementation of NVC-O and the NF Plan.
- Emerging Recognised Role Weaves - Typically made up of Assessors and Certification Candidates, aiming to function in the manner of a Recognised Role weaves, but lacking one or more of the roles associated with a Prototype Recognised Role Weave. (The term may also refer to a group of Community members aiming to be a Prototype Recognised Role Weave, but which has not yet filled the essential roles.)
- Prototype Recognised Role Weaves - Made up of Recognised Role Candidates (currently, simply members of the NVC-O Community, who may or may not be Certification Candidates), those approved by NVC-O processes to serve in the roles of Integration Trustee, Weave Coach, and Access Coach, and possibly other Community members.
After the NF Implementation Phase, the following types of Weaves (and possibly others) will exist.
- Community Weaves - Formed by members of the NVC-O Community.
- Organisational Weaves - Made up of NVC-O Partners (once full Partner Onboarding Process is available), possibly with Contributors.
- Recognised Role Weaves - What Prototype Recognised Role Weaves will evolve into once the full Recognised Role Process is developed and ratified.
The following pages offer charts that offer additional information on the types of weaves that exist during the NF Implementation Phase.

- Community Members here refer to anyone who registers as an NVC-O Community member, based on feeling aligned with NVC-O Community Vision, Purpose, and Mission.
- Transitional Partners include Implementation Council members, plus anyone who has gone through the Transitional Onboarding process.
- An Implementation Support Weave can become a Transitional Organisational Weave once 3 members have been onboarded as Transitional Partners.
- “Contributors” are Community members who go through a relevant orientation process and intend to work to support NVC-O.
- Transitional Partners are responsible for any organisational decisions that are made, though Contributors may be invited to participate in a Transitional Organisational Weave.
- Community Weaves may be created by any Community members who would like to do so. And, it’s good to let the Implementation Council (or someone they designate) know that you exist, and how to contact you, to support connection with the organisation.
- Implementation Support Weaves can be initiated by Transitional Partners, or by Contributors. If initiated by Contributors, there should be coordination with a Transitional Partner for the weave to be considered an Implementation Support weave.
Weave names have evolved: In some prior documentation, Implementation Support Weaves were called “Transitional Satellite Weaves” or “Prototype Weaves”. Also, at one point the term “Transitional Organisational Weaves” was used to refer to weaves make up of Transitional Partners; but the terminology has been simplified to use “Organisational Weave” to refer to weaves in the organisation, whether the Partners are Transitional or full Partners.
